The category referral fees table is dated 14 May 2026. The referral fee formula page is dated 8 May 2025.
- Referral fee equals the category rate times customer payment, plus platform discount, minus tax. TikTok's worked example is a $102 payment, a $5 platform discount, and $2 tax, at 6%, which is a $6.30 referral fee.
- After the referral fee is that same base minus the referral fee: customer payment, plus platform discount, minus tax, minus the fee.
- Shipping sits outside this fee. TikTok's formula page says the referral fee does not include shipping.
- On a refund, TikTok keeps a refund administration fee of 20% of the referral fee, capped at $5 per SKU since 15 May 2025. That fee is outside the number above.
- Some writeups in August 2026 described an 8% referral fee. The public category table lists 6% and 5%. This calculator uses that table. Check Seller Center for the rate on your account.
- Fine jewelry at 5% is Jewelry Accessories and Derivatives: Diamond, Gold, Jade, Platinum and Carat Gold, and Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. That rate started 31 October 2024. Amber, pearl, silver, and the other jewelry rows on the table stay at 6%, with most categories.
- Pre-owned is 5%, and any portion of the sale over $10,000 is 3%. Collectibles are 6%, and any portion over $10,000 is 3%.
